How To Plan and Be Organized

By @AmosMateane & @FaithMlotshwa , 17 April, 2023

Have you ever wondered how it would be if everything were to fall into place in the way that we always wished ? How smooth sailing and uncluttered our days would be if we all planned our times carefully and adhered to our schedules ? Or even how much more we'd remember from what we studied if only we conducted a proper outline of how we would go about being prepared for our tests and exams ? Well if so, then this article is exactly what you're looking for with regards to HOW TO PLAN AND BE ORGANIZED .

It is no lie that planning is easy , however sticking to the plan is where the real problem lies. How many of us have jotted down "To do lists" with hopes to tick tasks off during the course of the day ? Well we are all guilty of doing a completely different thing to what we've planned. Have you ever wondered why? Well , it is simply because our plans are not strategic. Having a strategic and well oriented plan increases the chances of you actually following it. A number of us have unrealistic plans , and that's why we fail to adhere to them.

If you're wondering why it's important to have a Strategic plan , here's why :

1. Strategic plans work around your capabilities and what you are able to do.

2. They decrease the chances of feeling pressured during the day as they are set to be realistic and do not require more than what you can actually do.

3. They are set according to schedules , meaning your day will be organised and productive.

Here's how to set a strategic plan :

-Create a two column page where you jot down important tasks (eg , Biology Assignment) and semi important tasks (eg , finish Love Don't Cost A Thing Series).

-Rate the important tasks from most important to least important and have deadlines set to each of them.

-Set daily plans and Incorporate 3 tasks from important and another 3 from Semi Important tasks.

-Keep in mind that anything can pop up during the course of the day so try not to overload your day plans with alot of tasks.

-Tick off Tasks completed at the end of every day.

-Reward yourself. You deserve it.

Sticking to the plan.

This might be hard but keep in mind that this is the only way to be organised.

"A dream without a plan is a wish" so stick to your plan , and make your dreams a reality.

It is also no secret that we're human and can only get a portion of work done before we end up losing track of our will and desire to complete the designated task. Having an unplanned lifestyle is never the best solution as it becomes very difficult to balance out the different responsibilities that one may be accountable for. For example, without a daily schedule, one may feel as though they have too much to do in very little time which thus decreases their productivity as disorganization mainly leads to spending too much time on one thing. Without a desired goal in a specific time duration planned out, it becomes very simple to overlap required tasks which can be increasingly detrimental as it may take a tol on one's emotional and physical energy, and further hinder the expectations.

This is therefore why it is within our best interests to inform our readers on how to instill organizational and planning skills into their daily livelihoods so that we all are able to incorporate the most of our daily routines !
